Lina Monroy Salazar
Founder and Director
Lina Monroy Salazar founded Casa Hogar Ave Fenix in 2013, with the mission of helping children in Pátzcuaro and nearby whose stories broke her heart, stories very similar to her own. Berenice López Monroy
General Coordinator
Bere, Lina's daughter, fulfills an important role in the Casa Hogar Ave Fénix team. She is aware of all areas and makes sure things get done. She consults, plans, and is ready to step in wherever she is needed. She is passionate about supporting the project. She also is, almost full time, the loving caregiver of one little girl who has been part of Ave Fénix since she was 3 months old.
Arcelia Acosta Villegas
Our cook
Ms. Arcelia is more than a wonderful cook who prepares delicious and nutritious food. She is also an important part of the Ave Fénix family! She works with the children helping them be responsible for keeping their rooms neat and clean, watering the plants, and keeping order in the house in general. She's also the children's informal nurse. When something hurts, the children go to her to ask for a tea. No matter what pain they are in, Arcelia always has one that helps. Her smile makes us all smile.
Cecilia da silva Parreira
Administrative assistant
A licensed children's home requires making reports to the licensing board each month, as well as documenting information related to each child, accounting for expenses and income, lists of donors, and many more documents. Cecilia keeps all of this organized and up to date, which is no easy job! At the same time she is a warm caring person, who likes to laugh and who gives love and guidance to the children.
